Our setting aims to:
- provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age
- work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop
- add to the life and well-being of the local community
- offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity

Current Term
Our topic this term is the countryside. We will be exploring the countryside around the Preschool Nursery, picking blackberries and making apple and blackberry crumble. We will be learning about the plants, birds, insects and animals located in our countrysides, as well as their homes and how animals hibernate. As we approach the autumn we will look at the farmland around the Preschool and the harvesting of the fields.
Our countryside topic will be reflected in the artwork the children produce, reproducing Van Gogh's 'Wheatfields with crows' in our own special way! Stories the children will be listending to include, Percy The Park Keeper, Out & About a collection of poems by Shirley Hughes, The Scarecrows Wedding,
Our daily phonics and number activities will continue, as well as incorporating some messy math's into the mix. These are interactive sessions which are play based and are lots of fun and are a gentle introduction to early phonics and math’s. We have further enhanced our weekly PE sessions with more dedicated equipment to support children's physical development and well being. These will be fun, physically challenging sessions.
As always there will be plenty of opportunities for outdoor learning, collecting blackberries for our blackberry and apple crumbles, listening to sounds in the environment and collecting sticks, leaves and feathers to make mobiles. We now have a dedicated area granted by the Parish Council and this will enable us to develop our outdoor learning further. In conjunction with the Parish Council we are also planting a wild flower garden at the edge of the playing field and this will be another lovely area for the children to learn about nature and our environment.
