Bear Group
Welcome to the Bear Group. This is where the children start when they join us as a rising 3-year old. Children enjoy sessions full of fun and play, with 15 minutes each half-day when we work as a group; playing a game, creating pictures, exploring new ideas together and sharing stories.
Once a week we have a PE session, when the children change into plimsols; a helpful skill to learn. We enjoy a range of physical activities – for example, movement to music, dance with scarfs and ribbons, making our own music with a variety of instruments, moving along a little balancing wall, or steering cars between cones and using the STOP/GO signs.
Each term we share a Topic with the Elephants and Tigers, selecting related activities which reflect the ages and ability of those in the Bear group. You will find more about this below.
We follow the four guiding principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage - every child is unique, encouraging positive relationships, having an enabling environment for good learning and development, and appreciating that children develop at different rates and in different ways. Our children are encouraged to enjoy themselves and flourish in a stimulating,
richly educational and above all, fun environment.
Our new Preschool term has started and we are very excited to welcome the new children to join our existing members in the Bear Group. This term our topic is Recycling and caring for our environment - a wonderful topic with a wealth of stories and rhymes to explore. Our wall display will show lots of recycled arts as well as how we are recycling in the Nursery with our new recycling bins. Let's get going!
