Fees
The fees are £8.00 per hour, with an additional charge of £2 a day for snacks and cooking, payable termly in advance. Fees must still be paid if children are absent without notice for a short period of time.
For your child to keep her/his place at the Nursery, fees must be paid. We are in receipt of nursery education funding for three and four year olds and working parent funding for 2 year olds; where funding is not received or doesn't cover the number of sessions attended, then private fees apply.
Opening Hours
Brightwalton Preschool Nursery is open from 9am-3pm each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please see key dates section for term dates. We run a morning session from 9am until 12pm and an afternoon session from 12pm until 3pm. Children arriving for afternoon sessions or those staying for the full day from 9am-3pm bring a packed lunch with them.

Nursery Education Grant Funding
We are in receipt of nursery education funding for three and four year olds. As your child becomes eligible for Grant Funding, usually in the term after their third birthday, we will ask you to let us know how many, if any, of your sessions at the pre-school will be covered by the funding. The government entitlement funding allowance is 15 hours per week or 30 hours a week for those working parents that are eligible. For those working parents with 2 year olds, there is 15 hours of funding available each week. We will provide you with the paperwork from West Berkshire Council and ask you to sign it so that we can claim the funding for your child. Should additional sessions be required or your child is not yet eligible for grant funding, then these will be charged at a rate of £8.00 per hour.
Please note that we cannot claim grant funding for your child without a copy of their birth certificate. To ensure we can claim your grant sessions as soon as your child becomes eligible, please provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate when you complete the registration form for Brightwalton Preschool Nursery.
Early Years Pupil Premium
From April 2015 childcare providers are able to claim extra funding through the Early Years Pupil Premium. The aim of the funding is to further support children’s development, learning and care.
The setting can use the extra funding in any way we choose to improve the quality of our provision for your child. This could include, for example, investing in additional training for our staff on early speech and language to help and encourage your child with their communication skills or the purchase of specialist toys to enhance their sensory perception.
Please ask Sarah Wheatley-Hince for further details on eligibility and the application process.
